International Coffee Day

今日はInternational coffee dayについてのお話。。。

１０月１日は実はこのInternational Coffee Day なんです

なんで１０月１日なんだろうということですけど

どうやら、コーヒー豆の生産で有名なブラジルでその年度の生産が終わるのが

９月３０日みたいなんです

そして１０月１日からコーヒー豆がどんどん出荷され始めるので、それを祝う日として

International Coffee Day ができたそうな。。。

いわゆるコーヒー業界の年度始めですね

ちなみに、

１９８３年に全日本コーヒー協会が１０月１日を「コーヒーの日」

として制定したのが一番最初だそうです

諸説あるようですけど、私が聞いたのはこの説です

アメリカでは２００５年の初め頃にNational Coffee Dayとして初めて記述されたそうで

ちなみにアメリカもニュージーランドも９月２９日がNational Coffee Day ですって

１０月１日に私も吉祥寺のコーヒースタンドに行ったのですけど

人がたくさんいて、そこのコーヒーを断念してチェーンのカフェに行ってコーヒーを

飲んできました。。。笑

コーヒー好きとしてはあるまじき行為ですね〜。。。

まあまた来年チャレンジしますかね

Today's topic is International Coffee Day.

International Coffee Day is on 1st of October.

This day actually depends on each countries because some countries have Naitonal Coffee Day instead.

During 29th of September till 1st of October is kinda International Coffee week, and 

lots of events will be held around the world.

I don't know why 1st of October is the International coffee day really, but

I heard on 30th of September, Brazil, where coffee industry is popular, finish produing coffee beans, and on 1st of October, they start to ship them.

That is why they celebrate 1st of October...

It's kinda fiscal year for coffee industry.

Well on 1st of October,I went to a local coffee stand.

I didn't expect the International coffee day was popular among Japanese, but

there was a really long que in front of the coffee stand in that day.

Maybe Coffee is getting popular beverage in Japan...!?
